“Beyond Expectations”

We visited The Lobster Monster for a birthday party of 12. The Lobster Monster is family owned and operated. This is one of the main reasons for choosing the Lobster Monster over some larger chain restaurants we wanted more of a personal feel to this occasion. Marianne and Steve Woo (owners) did not disappoint us the service and attention they give their patrons is second to none this is what a you should expect when you dine out. Thanks for this first and foremost Marianne.

The food was well above our expectations. We started with drinks, selection are simple and well chosen. The Ladies that had the Wolf Bass Cabernet Sauvignon said it was a perfect pairing. A few of us had the house specialty Caesar (comes with a Jumbo Shrimp) very nice drink.

Apps were amazing we had quite a few Garlic Bread, Bruchetta, Lobster Nachos. Both soups Lobster Bisque and their own Clam Chowder all were fresh and tasty. The main courses were way beyond our expectations. I had the Surf and Turf and it was cooked to perfection. Fillet Mignon was tender and full of flavor, lobster just mouth watering. At least 5 people chose the Seafood Linguine some with light sauce some regular and my wife’s with no cream and accommodated all without question. Everyone said portions were very large and filling with extremely good flavor. My 2 adult daughters and our nephew all had Lobster Mac & Cheese, simply delicious. Again very large portions. Lobster Croissant was also ordered and was amazing, as our friend put it.

The house supplied choice of desserts for the 2 birthdays and it was house made carrot cake absolutely delicious So Big shared between 4 and Chocolate brownie explosion wow sooo good again big enough to share with 3-4.

A big thank you and job well done to John in the kitchen simple tasty well presented and portions to be proud of. If you want a real dinner out well worth every penny you spend whether it's a party or dinner for 2 you will not be disappointed. You will be more disappointed if you don't choose THE LOBSTER MONSTER for your next occasion. Marianne and staff will welcome you with open arms and a dinner to remember.

See you again soon Marianne and Steve

“Midtown Gem”

Great spot to take the family for a special occasion or just a casual meal when you’re in the mood for seafood. Staff are extremely attentive and friendly. I wouldn’t recommended this restaurant for the diet-restricted and calorie counters! We loved our Lobster Bisque, Fillet Mignon, Snow Crab Legs and the whole lobster was cooked to perfection. Can’t wait to go back for the lunch-y options like Lobster White Mac & Cheese and Grilled Cheese A La Lobster...

“Traditional Lobster meal”

Place was a small restaurant, quaint little plaques and art work on walls. Quiet so you could talk. Lobster was cooked perfectly just melted in your mouth - for $5 more they will de-shell the lobster for you- for $9 you got Bruchetta or garlic bread ( both delicious) and either clam chowder or Lobster bisque (also delicious). Nice selections of wines, reasonably priced. For dessert, we had carrot cake which was delicious and large enough to share - bonus it was made without walnuts - (my wife is allergic to walnuts)

“A Taste of the Maritimes”

Service was terrific, friendly and personal by the owner/manager and one helper. We had useful advice with respect to our order, which was served in good time for quality food like this.

The menu focuses on lobster and other seafood, but there are meat options available.

As it was my birthday, they produced a free slice of yummy cake with a candle!

The wine list is short but adequate; cocktails are available. We did not try the beer if any. The whole lobster was nicely presented and came with tools and a bib. The large lobster tail was delicious. The fries were crispy - all good except we could have used a few more veggies.

Washrooms in the basement were very clean and nice, not like some Toronto places.

The restaurant is a short walk north of the Lawrence subway station, on the east side, but easy to miss. Look for it next to Lime, which has a more obvious sign."

“Fantastic”

Came here for husband's birthday and it was fantastic! A small place but very cozy and comfortable. We got lucky and were seated without a reservation so make a reservation if you plan on coming - especially if you're a big party.

Husband started off the night by ordering a Caesar - it came with a giant prawn! I didn't get a taste but he said it was very good. Next came the bowl of lobster bisque. Our bowl came with 3 smaller bowls to share (2 adults, 1 toddler) and we drank every last drop. It's so creamy with tender pieces of lobster in it, and the lobster flavour is phenomenal!! Get this one for sure! They also offer a smaller cup size, but the bowl is definitely a bigger bang for your buck. We also got garlic bread and bruschetta which is full of fresh garlicky goodness.

For our mains, I ordered Neptune's Delight Seafood Linguini. This giant plate contains 2 rock lobster tails, 3 shrimp, 3 scallops, lots of baby clams and some lobster meat all mixed in a creamy marinara sauce, served over a very generous portion of linguini. I love that there was so much seafood in this. All 3 of us ate from here and we still packed home half of it.

Husband ordered Lucious Lobster White Mac and Cheese. So creamy and cheesy and utterly delicious! Another dish the three of us attempted to eat and still packed home half of it.

We had no space for dessert, otherwise we would have gone for Karat cake.

Definitely a must try if you're looking for lobster and/or seafood dinner. The menu is pretty extensive and there's a lot of other dishes I want to try. Next time, I will plan accordingly and bring a bunch of friends so we can all share!
